Growers of five Maryland crops have Fall deadlines to sign up for federally subsidized crop insurance, according to Jan Eliassen of the National Crop Insurance Services.
Winter wheat and barley share a Sept. 30 deadline.
Depending on the county, winter wheat is insurable under two different kinds of crop insurance policies: the standard Actual Production History (APH), and Group Risk Protection (GRP).
Nov. 20 is the deadline for apples and peaches.
The deadline for potatoes is Dec. 31.
