TIMONIUM, Md. If it has to do with horses, it will likely be at the Maryland State Fairgrounds during the 11th annual Horse World Expo on Jan. 18-21.
“There’s everything from pens and pencils to saddles and trailers,” said Denise Parsons, president of Equestrian Promotions in Bel Air, Md., who is organizing the event. “If it’s about horses, goes on horses or just has a horse on it, it’s here.” She said there will be about 500 exhibitor boots and more than 100 free seminars, free with the cost of admission.
Parsons expects “tens of thousands of people” to come to the expo over the four days. “The Expo has grown every year beyond what we could have dreamed,” said Parsons. “We literally fill all of the buildings at the fairgrounds and each year we have to turn away vendors because we just don’t have space. Our roster of seminars and clinics has become more impressive each year, too, and it makes the Expo an incredible value whether you’re a competitive rider or just someone who likes horses.”
Topics of the expo’s seminars will include equine dentistry, farm safety, equine law and liability, money matters, horse training and show ring strategy for competitive riders.
“We want to make sure we cover the largest discipline as possible” to attract people from all areas of horses, Parsons said. She said of the speakers, Chris Cox, one of the nation’s leading horsemen and clinicians will be perhaps the most widely known at the expo. Other well-known speakers at the expo include: Liz Graves, an expert on naturally gaited horses, Wendy Murdoch, dressage and eventing teacher and Michael and Tiffany Richardson of Broke R Ranch in Hico, Texas.
